The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to the conditions of the Venetian lagoon. For centuries gondolas were the chief means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice.

t is estimated that there were eight to ten thousand gondolas during the 17th and 18th century. There are just over four hundred in active service today, virtually all of them used for hire by tourists.

Dino Campana (Marradi, 20 agosto 1885 – Scandicci, 1º marzo 1932) , poeta italiano.

Autore dell'opera poetica i Canti Orfici (1914) e di altre raccolte pubblicate postume tra cui "Il Taccuino", il "Taccuinetto faentino" e "Il più lungo giorno", una prima stesura degli stessi Canti Orfici ritrovata solo nel 1971 e al centro di uno dei casi più controversi della storia della letteratura italiana. Campana è stato accostato per gusto poetico al Simbolismo francese, alle avanguardie europee d'inizio Novecento e alla poesia orale toscana. Prima del suo definitivo internamento in una casa di cura presso Badia a Settimo (Scandicci), viaggiò per molti paesi europei e in Sudamerica.
